The Reno-Sparks metropolitan area of Northern Nevada has the 10th Best Overall Standard of Living in the U.S., according to Expansion Management magazine's eighth annual Quality of Life Quotient report.
Among the factors evaluated by the magazine are housing, schools, crime rates, adult education opportunities, traffic and commuting, commercial air access and adult education levels. Based on various demographic characteristics, the survey also measures whether a community has a good employee market.
A total of 362 cities were evaluated in 49 different statistical categories. The results were listed in the May/June issue of the magazine.
The magazine states that the goal of the Quality of Life Quotient is to help small to mid-sized companies evaluate which cities to consider for expansion or relocation "from a livability and affordability standpoint."
Expansion Management is distributed to company executives who have indicated that they are considering expanding into new geographic areas. The magazine's goal is to provide readers with honest and factual comparison information on cities, states and regions that will enhance their ability to make quality site location decisions.
