The Orvis Company, a Vermont-based outdoor clothing/gear specialist, is one of six new tenants announced on Thursday for The Summit Sierra retail center scheduled to open in mid-March in south Reno.
Orvis will serve as an anchor along with Dillard's department store and a 16-screen Century Theaters cinema at the open-air complex at the northwest corner of South Virginia Street and the Mount Rose Highway.
Other tenants named Thursday are Nestle Toll House Cafe, woman's clothier Lane Bryant, pre-teen clotheir Justice, Ria Shoes and a Charley's Steakery franchise.
That's in addition to dozens of other newcomers already announced, including Abercrombie & Fitch, Banana Republic, Pottery Barn, Coldwater Creek, GapKids, Guess and Williams-Sonoma.
"Every store is bringing more choices and consumer favorites to this area," said Larry Hunt, senior property manager for The Summit Sierra.
He said 11 stores are now working on interior construction ahead of the expected March 15, 2006, opening date.
The Summit Sierra is a project of Alabama-based Bayer Properties Inc., a privately owned developer with similar "Summit" centers in Birmingham, Ala., and Louisville, Ky., and another under construction in Eastern Pennsylvania.
In all, The Summit Sierra will hold 70 stores and restaurants spanning 700,000 square feet.
