According to a survey of top corporate executives and site selection counselors, Nevada is the fifth best state for business in the nation. The survey was conducted by Development Counsellors International (DCI), a consulting firm that helps communities attract investors and visitors.
“Nevada was one of the biggest surprises this year,” said Andy Devine, president of DCI. “It had never even made the Top 10 in the previous three editions and is only the third state west of the Mississippi to make the top five since the survey’s inception.”
Sharing the top five slots with Nevada are Texas (1), North Carolina (2), South Carolina (3) and Georgia (4).
Among the issues considered by the survey respondents in their selections were taxes, labor availability and skill levels, and incentive offerings. Of the business executives surveyed, 16 percent picked Nevada as the state with the most favorable business climate in the nation.
