Nevada Chemicals Inc. expansion to be completed by 2010
Nevada Chemicals Inc., part-owner of the Cyanco plant near Winnemucca, says a 50 percent expansion of the facility is expected to be completed by 2010. The booming mining industry has increased demand for liquid sodium cyanide produced by the facility.

New Northern Nevada Power Plant Goes Online
The newest power plant in Northern Nevada is up and running and generating 17 megawatts of electricity. Galena 3 is the latest addition to Ormat Technologies' Steamboat geothermal complex a few miles south of Reno along Highway 395. The entire complex produces approximately 100 megawatts of electricity from Northern Nevada's most abundant renewable resource – geothermal energy.

Reno ranks 39th out of 50 mid-sized cities in a study of "Best Places for Relocating Families."
The study was undertaken by Worldwide ERC, an association for workforce mobility and Primary Relocation, a third-party provider of relocation services. It tracks factors such as job growth and the availability of nearby colleges.
